Zach Shemon is passionate about saxophone pedagogy and enjoys sharing his knowledge with music students of all levels.

Shemon serves as the Assistant Professor of Saxophone at the University of Missouri- Kansas City Conservatory. The UMKC saxophone studio is currently comprised of sixteen undergraduate and graduate students. Maintaining a competitive and thriving studio, members have gone on to win competitions, perform internationally, and earn secondary and collegiate level teaching jobs.

Shemon is also on faculty at Interlochen’s Arts Camp and Saxophone Institute where he coaches quartets, presents masterclasses, teaches private lessons, and works with the saxophone ensembles.

masterclasses/workshops/outreach

Shemon has presented masterclasses, clinics, and workshops throughout the world at conferences, conservatories, universities, and high schools. He also directs and teaches at the annual Kansas City Saxophone Workshop for high schools students. Shemon is also committed to community outreach and has worked with middle and high school students throughout Kansas and Missouri.
